 People In Prayer

Held every Sunday following the worship service (at 11 a.m.)., People in Prayer is an informal gathering of our members and regular attendees to pray for the specific needs of the church body.

Our mission statement, vision, and goal are as follows:

A. This program is to bring our heart felt needs and desires, from the Bridgton Alliance Church congregation, and give them to God through prayer.

B. The Vision for 2007 is to enlarge our prayer partners in this program and strengthen the voice of the people to God. Currently there are 4 of us committed to praying, but would like to increase the number to 15 people.

C. The goal: To get the prayers in writing from congregation members every two months, but lift up the prayers weekly to God and his son Jesus. We as a church body have faith and believe in prayer. Through our weekly prayer group we will lift up the needs of the congregation and know God will honor and hear our needs.

D. Objectives for the program:

  1. To meet on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. weekly.
  2. To provide babysitting for those that need child care in order to come.
  3. To have the prayers organized so that we can break down into groups and pray for the various needs.
  4. To have a strong and solid group of people committed to pray for all and any needs of the Bridgton Alliance Church family.
  5. To lift up the Pastor, his family members, all the Elders and employees of the Bridgton Alliance Church every week.
  6. If certain individuals within the Church body or out of the church body, need to come in and have us pray for them, we invite them to come.
  7. To have a praise and worship time at the beginning and end of each prayer group. Scripture will be used throughout the prayers.
  8. To give God and his Son Jesus all the Glory.
  9. To work in conjunction with Puppets with a Purpose when we collect the hearts every other month. Puppets with a Purpose will present a meaningful Children’s message on the Sundays we collect hearts.

 Connecting with Others Through Prayer

The Prayer Chain of the Bridgton Alliance Church has been functioning as a telephone-alerted prayer chain for many years. For the past three years, Bob Davis has been the person responsible for activating the Prayer Chain. No changes are comtemplated in the way this chain functions as many of the Prayer Chain members do not have access to e-mail or the Internet.

Please call Bob Davis at either 583-4710 or 595-1402 with any prayer requests you wish to add to the Bridgton Alliance Church prayer chain. He will receive messages left at either of these numbers within 24 hours, and most o the time he will answer one or the other of these phones. E-mail to rdavis1026@msn.com also works, but if he is out of town he may not have accesss to the Internet or e-mail for a week or two.

Bob is in the process of adapting the activities of the prayer chain to mesh appropriately with the newly established EPrayer system that was recently activated on this website and with other e-mail prayer distributions that are in use at the Bridgton Alliance Church. At the present time:

  • Phone calls to Bob Davis requesting prayer: Bob will activate the prayer chain and unless the caller requests otherwise, will also enter the request into the EPrayer system.
  • E-mails sent only to Bob Davis requesting prayer: Bob will activate the prayer chain and unless the writer requests otherwise, will also enter the request into the EPrayer system.
  • E-mails sent to a large list of recipients: Bob will only activate the prayer chain if it appears to him that the request is very urgent and that it is important to involve the entire prayer chain. If he activates the prayer chain, he will also enter the request into the EPrayer system.
  • Prayer requests that Bob Davis receives from the EPrayer system: Bob will only activate the prayer chain if it appears to him that the request is very urgent and that it is important to involve the entire prayer chain.

If you are a registered user of this website (church members and regular attenders), you are encouraged to post prayer requests, praise reports, and updates to earlier posts using our new EPrayer prayer tracking system which went on-line on Sunday, April 21, 2007. If you have not yet registered, please click on the Register link located in the upper righthand corner of any page of this site.

For brief instructions and tips for using the EPrayer system, visit the EPrayer Instructions page.

If you do not see the EPrayer module below, you are either not a registered user or you have not "logged in" with your username and password.
